San Francisco's Mission District turned into a bit of a shitshow after the Giants win on Sunday night. People were in the street celebrating, everyone was drinking, some folks were lighting stuff on fire, etc. In other parts of the city, fans showed their appreciation by lighting a bus on fire. Valencia street was closed off between 17th and 15th, and things were pretty peaceful. Over on Mission, it was a different story. There were several arrests made, and a line of police officers in helmets blocked off Mission at 16th. As far as I could tell, there was no violence between revelers and the police, but the situation did have some tense moments - thrown bottles, chanting, and at least one mooning were all directed towards the police. Hopefully the injuries were limited to small bumps and scrapes, and everyone has had a nice, calm Monday to nurse their hangovers.
